Curiosity: The name is a tribute to the Salento area where a Greek dialect, known as Griko, is still spoken. This region includes various towns in the province of Lecce, rich in a culture rooted in the ancient history of the Mediterranean, with the establishment of the first Greek colonies on the Salentine coasts dating back to the time of Magna Graecia. Even today, the elders of the towns in Grecìa Salentina speak this dialect, although it is unfortunately fading away.
