White clover honey is a monofloral honey produced by bees that collect nectar from the flowers of white clover (Trifolium repens). This honey is prized for its delicate and sweet flavor, with light vanilla notes and a floral aroma. The color of white clover honey ranges from pale white to light yellow, depending on the purity and harvesting period.
White clover honey is known for its smooth, silky texture, making it easy to spread. It is particularly versatile in the kitchen, used to sweeten tea and beverages, as an ingredient in dessert recipes and baked goods, or simply spread on toast. Thanks to its delicate flavor, it can also be used as a natural sweetener in sauces, marinades, and salad dressings.
Nutritionally, white clover honey contains vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that contribute to overall well-being. It also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, common to many types of honey, making it a helpful ally in soothing sore throats and colds.
Crystallization may occur and is a sign of quality. To return the honey to a liquid state, heat it in a water bath at no more than 40°C.
